D-Lidz is a STELLAR student and other news...

It's so nice to get a call from one of the kiddos--completely out of the blue with no strings attached. I get to find out what's going on without reading it in their blogs!

And so it was that today I was getting ready to call it a day at work--my first day back in just over 9 weeks of medical leave--and D-Lidz calls to tell me that she is the recipient of not one but TWO art scholarships! One is a "Dashiel" (sp?) travel scholarship for her trip to Japan at the end of May for 10 days. The other is an art history scholarship for 500 big ole buckaroos!! Woohoo! News like that warms a DolliMama's heart...and HHarveyboy is pretty damn proud, too!

In other news, Ell-wee-dot (our Bean) and Mommy (Baddao) are finalizing their plans for their whirlwind trip to o-HI-o so that a) Bean can hang with the grandparents, et al. and 2) Momma can go see her favorite Hammel on Trial and attend the big Tin-Huey-etc-etc (Mug-o-Sheep Connection) gala at the Lime-o-Spider on April 29. Daddy Kreahs probably won't be able to make the trek this time but will save up his time for some kickin' back in AK-Rowdy style in July for a family va-cay.

Mombi was getting her thrift on today after 40 days and 40 nights of sacrifice...a pain just shy of flagellation. Nice way to spend her day off! She and the Pirate still have an overstuffed Easter basket waiting for them at Castle Gold, filled with pounds of chocolate, Cow Tails, and Peeps. Yes, PEEPS!--luscious, colorful PEEPS--blue, yellow, purple, and pink! Come and get it, kiddos!!
